Merlock’s Kinda Mid-West tour

We don’t usually publish “breaking news.” It’s gotta be something big. Haunted signing to Ripple big.

Merlock going on a tour like this feels big. So here’s the news, plagiarized from the original source:

Merlock’s Calamaties Tour

Underground psych-doom colossus Merlock will bring calamity upon the Midwest this May as they embark on their girthiest tour to date. The Spokane band, armed with recent partnerships with Does it Doom, Woodrite Guitars, Nebula Straps, and Black Harbor Sounds, will be traveling through 14 states from May 7th through the 24th.

This tour will follow several other riff-laden shows in the PNW this April, including a weekend with the almighty Empress and a three-show run around Rocky Mtn. Riff Fest w/ Desert Records Artist Sorcia. Following these tours, Merlock will enter the pre-production phase for their follow-up to 2023’s Onward Strides Colossus.

The Wizard Speaks

“I’m proud of how this tour shaped up; it’s sort of poetic for me, as I’ll be bringing Merlock to my home state. We’ll be playing at the bar I used to work at, where I cut my teeth as a performer and youngin’ in the doom scene with Baba Yaga. It’s this sort of return for me, personally, but also a huge step forward for the band: we’ve made some powerful allies, and we’ll be venturing to a bunch of new places and playing with some rad bands.”

To us at C&SS, Merlock is a sleeping giant. Seeing a band like this do a tour of this size and intensity is exciting, surprising and a little unexpected of a Zoinked Warrior with this level of THC tolerance.

It’s also a grand opportunity for Taylor and the band to learn, firsthand, that Idaho, Kentucky, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada and Utah are not in the Midwest.

But then, when Merlock comes to town, we’re all a little Mid.

Merlock Interview

In all seriousness, if you’re anywhere near one of the Merlock Tour dates, you might want to check them out. And buy some MERCH!
