When I met the band Cleen on Facebook, I heard a couple of their songs, all of which are on YouTube. I’m seeing a lot of this lately: bands uploading songs straight to that platform. It was unconventional enough to go Independent and upload straight to Bandcamp, and now it’s been taken a step further. It’s peaked my interest…
Lately, I’m constantly pulling these, “How hard can it be?” stunts, especially on my YouTube Channel. Let’s just say my ideas tend to be way above my skill level, LOL.
I figured Cleen would be great for an interview, when this crazy idea popped in my head- let’s do a reaction/review/interview all at the same time. I mean, how hard could it be?
Thank gawd I didn’t try to do this live. This here digital realm, while extremely useful, has all sort of moving parts. As you will see with my crude edits. The biggest thing was how HOT the recording was, at least when I did my initial screen recording. That bass overwhelmed the audio. My first upload was totally unlistenable.
As usual, I hope folk can look past my steep learning curve. The band were FANTASTIC to work with. I’m hoping to upload the whole thing someday without much editing, they really got into it.
So did I, and I can’t wait to hear what they evolve and come up with, hopefully for a few years. As usual, I hope you watch this, if for nothing else to get a glimpse at what it’s like trying to break through in todays climate. If you like it, please Like and Subscribe. Small channels have like a 4% chance of making it, and for small bands…
But then, I’m preaching to the choir!
