We’d been seeing that CleanAndSoberStoner site doing wonderful things and were wondering if the man behind it would be interested in joining the Doom… Doom Charts – 2022 Favorites – Scott SpiersRead More Doom Charts – 2022 Favorites – Scott Spiers

It’s an annual event for a lot of us, but this is my first actual “favorites” list. Some traditions need to be followed… This is not a “Best Of” list. I’ve fallen into that trap a few times, declared something as the “Best Album of ____”, and then never listened to it again, or if […]Read More My Favorites of 2022
Godless Suns is very much a throwback to an era I still doubt actually existed, and by that I mean before mastering guru’s and executives fucked up the party. This release is very much of this era, not some romanticized 70’s nostalgia. They fit in with a bunch of other bands that have made waves over the past few years, especially Scorched Oak and Saint Karloff. If you’re not careful, you’re gonna wind up on a successful tour with Frayle and the aforementioned Messa that makes so much money you’re gonna need an accountant. …Read More An Open Letter to Faetooth*
The real message I get from King Buffalo, the reality of our culture is reveal is that no, we suck. We abandon what’s great in search of what stinks, and then blame the stinker.Read More Happy King Buffalo Day!
If one were to pay attention to Gatekeepers like Finn McKenty, and other gatekeepers I’m not gonna mention, Stoner/Doom is repetitive, depressing and not worth paying attention to in any meaningful way. I’ve written that metal should stop criticizing/ disparaging other genres, that we should all take a collective chill pill (or edible) and support […]Read More Is Stoner/Doom a Boring, Dead Genre?
