Stoner/Doom News

Breaking News: Acid Mammoth

Hot off the wire and burning the presses: Acid Mammoth is releasing a new epic, fuzz-laden masterpiece of gargantuan awesomeness. Here’s the news straight from Purple Sage PR:

Athens doom metal pillars ACID MAMMOTH return this spring with their anticipated fourth album “Supersonic Megafauna Collision”, to be released on April 5th through Heavy Psych Sounds. Blast the title track now courtesy of Metal Injection!

Get ready to be overtaken by a storm of pachyderm-hefty riffs, wooly bass, fierce drumming, and witchy vocals. ACID MAMMOTH’s highly anticipated fourth album is an unholy celebration of all things heavy, and as the album progresses, it just keeps getting doomier. “Supersonic Megafauna Collision” is an evil and explosive album drenched in 666% fuzz!

Acid Mammoth staring you down

This is one of my most anticipated releases. I’ve referred to this a couple times, but it was mainstream press comments on the mighty Acid Mammoth that pissed me off enough to begin reviewing.

In case you don’t know anything about Acid Mammoth, they don’t reinvent the wheel. They go old-school and chisel it out of stone purged from the frozen earth. I expect this to be nothing less than trudging bass, glacially slow guitars, drums that inflict sonic wounds, and vocals that make the whole thing dirtier.

Keep your ears to the ground on April 5!

Thanks to Purple Sage for giving us fair warning…
